Alexandre Heeren, PhD

Alexandre Heeren is a Research Professor — FNRS Research Associate at both the Psychological Science Research Institute and the Institute of Neuroscience of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), Belgium. An enduring theme across his research is the role of cognitive mechanisms of psychopathology, especially of anxiety- and stress-related psychopathology. Current research with his team includes extension of his work to computational network approach to psychopathology, investigation of transdiagnostic mechanisms of anxiety and stress-related psychopathology (e.g., attentional bias, attentional and executive processes, rumination, brain alterations, avoidance, affiliative system), and several translational-research agendas (e.g., neuromodulation, neurocognitive training, CBT, computerized therapy).
